Last week, we discussed the importance of being your own cheerleader. You need to distinguish your accomplishments and skills from the rest of the team. More importantly, you need to communicate this to the person who manages you. Consequently, this is one of the first steps in helping your boss become a cheerleader for you as well.
This is important. That communication – you providing your boss with what you are doing well and how you are doing it – enables your boss to then champion your efforts to their boss and the executive team above them. The easier you make it for your boss to laud your efforts, the more likely it is to happen. Helping your boss be your cheerleader translates to sustainable sales success in your career!
