What is Weaponized Incompetence?

With respect to sales, weaponized incompetence manifests itself in one of two ways. You intentionally do something poorly so the responsibility gets passed off to someone else. That’s one example. The second is when you manipulate someone’s inability to perform and use it to your advantage, effectively getting out of doing something you don’t want to do.

Everybody Loses with Weaponized Incompetence

Ultimately, you’re missing out on doing a task that helps you understand. You miss out on appreciating its value. You can’t apply the insights you would gain from going through the process. You never learn the discipline of process. So everybody loses. But worst of all, you lose out. You can’t experience the satisfaction of honesty, transparency, and pure energy from accomplishment.
