Do you know what value YOU bring to the table? Can you calculate your worth to your organization? And most importantly, are you controlling that narrative? Or is someone else defining your worth? Summarize all the answers to these questions, and you’re well on your way to defining your personal marketing plan.

Gather

What is the concrete evidence of the good you have done this year? Draw together all the information that highlights your successes. Find all the opportunities you created and brought to the organization. Get in control of the data.

Define the Audience

Who needs to know the value you bring to the table? Identify everyone you need to showcase your talents and triumphs to. This should include the people at your company that will help you along on your career path. It may also need to include people outside of the organization where you may want to further your career growth.

Disseminate

Showcase yourself. Spread the word about what you have accomplished and what you could do, given the right resources. This isn’t a brag session. This is a thoughtfully collected and meaningfully derived marketing plan for you. It demonstrates victories you are owning the narrative to with supporting evidence giving credence to your skills and abilities.

It seems simple. But often enough, we don’t take the proper steps to display our successes. They should be celebrated, and their stories should be documented. And your story is a personal marketing plan that demonstrates your journey of sustainable sales success.
